Scale Model Trains: A Fun History
Scale Model Trains today are way more then kid's play.
More than a century back, the earliest train was built.

This hobby tends to passed from generation to generation.
It's not unusual for people these days to have within their
control a Model Railroad Train set older than themselves.
The earliest wood and metal floor model train was produced around the 1860's. By the 1890's, a line
of windup and electric powered Train Sets were developed. In 1901, Lionel created an Electric Train Set
for their retail store exhibit that had the WOW factor and impressed even the affection of adults.
It was on every young boys Xmas shortlist that year. Lionel is today still among the the
top model train designers.From the 1900's into the 1970's, the buzz of Electric Trains
sets grew. Lionel Trains Commodore Vanderbilt was the very first Steam Locomotive introduced
in 1934 in the Us. It was the crowned prototype for the first Toy Train.
This model contained a real life audio system which imitated the sound of the big rigs there by
increasing the excitement of owning this model train. Lionel's Union Pacific Veranda Turbine
diesel turbine power train set was distinct compared to other train sets.
Up to now it was the first model train which could be disassembled and then reassembled.
Model Railroading is a hobby which progressed from wood to electric, from Scale Model trains
to Toy Trains. from HO trains to N Scale Trains and then to Z scale that are even smaller scale.
From the 1980's, the Digital Command systems were created and were favorite amongs Baby
Boomers. Many model train sets are valued at thousands,and some have no huge worth but
carry much sentimental value .
This is a hobby that keeps the young at heart kid in all of us. It's not really the value
within the product that attracts hobbyists as the possession.Today the Scale Model Train hobby
has grown up above all expectations. There's well over half a million members in model train
hobby clubs throughout the nation,from people that craft to those that are collectors.
