are the top covers of mariner outboard engines made of fiberglass?
Most of them are made out of SMC (sheet molded compound). Some of the newer ones are actually plastic based. If you try to repair these will traditional methods (polyester resin) the adhesion properties are not the greatest. Usually a Epoxy resin (e.g. West System) will adhere rather well. Plastic bumper repair products that are used in the automotive industry will work well also.
